ESRNexus Boosts New Features That Enhance Data Re-Use and Accessibility for Outcomes and Health Technology Assessment Research

Literature Search Engine Makes it Easier for SRS Users to Contribute

Coded Data and References to ESRNexus

Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) August 3, 2007 -- TrialStat Corporation, a clinical data solutions on demand company, today added new ESRNexus features that enhance its capacity to re-use coded references submitted by the company's SRS user community. Launched in May and currently in beta testing, ESRNexus? (www.esrnexus.com) enables users to search, share and re-use references, and manually extract data from peer-reviewed reference literature, such as academic journals. Using TrialStat's SRS 4.0?, a Web-based software for reviewing research literature, users electronically codify general information from journal articles, which they can then publish to ESRNexus through an easy-to-use wizard. In just over 12 weeks since its beta launch, the literature search engine has more than 250 reference contributions from leading academic institutions and nearly 650,000 searches.

ESRNexus' new features include:

- Customizable Search Box. Users can generate a custom search box to place on their own Web site to allow visitors to search specified subsets of reference data on ESRNexus. For example, an oncology research Website could create an ESRNexus search box that allows visitors to search a specified relevant subset of oncology articles.

- SRS Integration. Research professionals using ESRNexus can now import their search results directly into systematic reviews that are conducted in SRS. Traditionally, search results were downloaded to a user's local machine and then uploaded to their reviews. This new feature removes a number of steps from the process.

- User Profiles. ESRNexus users can now create personal accounts where they can save search results for download or future use. In the months ahead, ESRNexus will add more sophisticated user account capabilities, including the ability to save and publish custom searches.
